About Angler’s Envy
Since 1985, I have been building custom fishing rods for anglers who have an eye for craftsmanship and quality. I was trained by mentors that built on the outer banks of North Carolina as well as Dale Clemens, a forefather of custom rodbuilding. Having trained by the best I know how to build rods that combine fine engineering, durability and detailed craftsmanship.
I grew up fishing around the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean and know what a fisherman needs to catch the fish that haunt our local waters. I have also run and worked on a boat out of Ocean City, Maryland fishing the Gulf Stream for marlin tuna and dolphin, so I know the abuse offshore fishing rods can be exposed to out on the water. That’s why I pay extra attention to building durable fishing rods that can withstand years of abuse.
Always experimenting and fine-tuning my craft, I recently developed a unique process for bending abalone. The resulting fishing rods are truly unique, offering a stunning display of the colors of the sea. They’ve become a real favorite and were recently featured in RodMaker magazine.
My passion for fishing and the craft of rodbuilding comes through in every rod I build. I pride myself in handcrafting rods that are beautiful, precision-tuned and will stand the test of time. You can find my custom fishing rods on boats and by streams on the east coast, west coast, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, South America and Hawaii.
